Its that time of year again where you pit your wits,take your chances and push things to the limit in order to squeeze your boat round the marks and over the finishing line in front of your fellow members. Its also the time for these so called thoroughbreds( lasers, ISOs, 470s, national12s, fireballs,etc ) to take on the mighty Wayfarers. Do you fancy your chances?.................., I didn't think so!!Only kidding folks. Relax. Its a Fun Regatta. A Regatta where the winners are those that participate. Its about enjoying yourself, its about enhancing your learning curve and its about .................., winning. So why not come down and support your Club. You can crew or you can helm. Club boats are available and we can sort things out on the day. You'll enjoy being on the water, being nervous on the start line, the tensions and the expectations of it all and then your off and the excitement takes over. Its a rollercoaster and you'll love it. And at the end theres the banter and thats when you wonder about some peoples sanity!! Its all good fun. The Regatta takes place on the last weekend in August, 30th & 31st at 12 noon. Best to be there for 11am. Well all thats left for me to do now is wish everyone the very best and if you have any questions just ask. On the Saturday of the same weekend @ 7pm the Club have organised a Harvest Dance in our Clubhouse. There will be stovies, music ,chatter and maybe some dancing. More or less the usual beach format but with a different twist. Again looking forward to seeing you all there. Prices £5 Adults £1 kids. |
