| RYA Seamanship Skills Course |

On the weekend of the 21st/22nd of August the Club will be running a RYA Seamanship Skills Course at our Clubhouse. The entry level for this course is a RYA Basic Skills Level 1 & 2. The cost of the course is £60 and places are available on a first come, first served basis.
The course will cover launching/returning to a windward shore launching/returning to a lee shore picking up/leaving a mooring coming alongside a fixed object or boat anchoring heaving to reefing afloat ropework man overboard (mob) sailing in adverse circumstances being towed by a power vessel On completion of this course, the successful sailor will be capable of manoeuvring a dinghy in a seamanlike manner and making seamanship decisions in moderate conditions. The RYA Advanced Sailing Manual is an excellent reference manual and are available in your Clubhouse. Price £4.95. Each chapter outlines the essential skills needed to pursue the different aspects of the sport, namely, Seamanship Skills, Day Sailing, Sailing with Spinnackers, Start Racing and Performance Sailing.
