| A Weekend with Dundee SC |
|
Well I hope you all enjoyed your weekend with DSC. First off was a Sunny Saturday Afternoon Sail with well over 15 boats on the water and twice as many people again standing on the shore-line munching on our tastie burgers hot off the barbecue and our specially hand picked strawberries. I'm beginning to think that the Club is being too good to you all !! Anyway, back to sailing. It was a bit gusty at times and although I wasn't there myself I did hear that one, possibly two, boats went over!! but not to worry, the same number of people that went out came back, so it can't have been that bad and I'm sure you are all better sailors for it!! No but seriously its good to see so many people down at Club Events and all thoroughly enjoying themselves. And to think, the smiles got even bigger as our Curry Nite got underway. This was our third Curry Evening of the year and again it was a huge success. The food was fantastic as ever, washed down with a few cool drinks and a few loooong stories, huddled round a bonfire on the Banks of the Tay. What more could you ask for?..... and then as the sunlight faded the moon arose in all its glory flooding us with its magical charms. A fitting end to a wonderful day. Its Sunday now and another day beckons...., and true to form just as you are begining to enjoy this sailing lark the boats and sailing gear are stashed away and the hard work begins. Old fences are ripped down and a new one erected, workshops cleared, grass cut, old masts chopped up, rusting trailors dismantled and boats rearranged. It was a mammoth task and your Clubhouse is looking all the better for it. Then not to waste a good day a number of you went sailing off thro' the bridges and I was left wondering did I work too hard or am I just getting old! Many thanks everyone, a great team effort. |
